چکیده

In the present study, synthetic seed production of medicinally important plant Enicostema axillare through nodal and root explants were attempted. plantlets germinated seeds using in vitro explants. Synthetic prepared from 3% Na+ 100mm calcium chloride was optimum concentration for uniform compact synseed formation. Alginate beads containing derived successfully entrapped with sodium alginate half-MS, quarter-MS, full-strength MS, double-distilled water 100 mM CaCl2 solution. full strength MS medium exhibited highest number multiple shoots on benzyl amino purine (BAP) 2 mgl-1 kinetin (KIN) 0.5 combination GA3. The capsulated produced 15.0±1.87 at a high rate (87%) BAP KIN combinations GA3 shoot length 6.24 ±1.03 cm along 28.4±5.50. stored 18ºC found to be favorable temperature preservation seeds, it increased germination frequency. ¼ preserved up 80 days more without losing ability (80%). fully developed hardened vermiculite (100%) survival 71%. This protocol could used conservation germplasm long-term storage E. axillare.

HEPATOPROTECTIVE ACTIVITY OF ENICOSTEMMA AXILLARE (LAM) Raynal IN LANTANA CAMARA LINN INDUCED HEPATOTOXICITY

Hepatotoxicity is a common condition of liver damage due to chemical entities or any other substances. The present study aims to explore the hepatoprotective activity of aqueous and alcoholic extracts of aerial parts of Enicostemma axillare (Lam.) Raynal against Lantana camara Linn induced hepatotoxicity in albino rats. Silymarin (100mg/kg) is used as a reference standard. The aqueous and alcoh...

Antioxidant and hepatoprotective effect of the ethyl acetate extract of Enicostemma axillare (Lam). Raynal against CCL4-induced liver injury in rats.

Enicostemma axillare is used in Indian traditional medicine as a liver tonic. Its ethyl acetate extract has shown potent in vitro antioxidant activity and found to contain 7.26% of a bitter secoiridoid glycoside, swertiamarin. Hence, in the present study the ethyl acetate extract was screened for hepatoprotective and antioxidant properties against CCl4 induced hepatic injury in rats. The hepato...

Enicostema Littorale Blume in Malaria

The amount of cinchona alkaloids and other antimalarials falls far short of India's requirements. The recent introduction of synthetic antimalarials has been a welcome relief. Besides in day-to-day clinical practice it has been observed that patients would like to be treated with indigenous herbs or their decoctions in preference to quinine and its derivatives or the synthetic antimalarials whi...
